Our Louisiana Fertility Clinic Services- Fertility Specialists Serving Baton Rouge, New Orleans and the Surrounding Regions.

Your relationship with A Woman's Center For Reproductive Medicine begins the minute you call. Upon receiving your call, we will begin to collect necessary information and guide you through the preparation process - even before your first visit. This will be a rigorous process for you, both emotionally and physically, so we will be a resource for you at every point during this journey. Our goal is to provide information and bring structure to your efforts.

Our fertility clinic offers all diagnostic and treatment services for conditions causing female infertility. These services range from the diagnostic workup, fertility drug therapies, and intrauterine insemination (IUI) to advanced reproductive technologies including in vitro fertilization (IVF) combined with micromanipulation techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)

Some women cannot use their own eggs to initiate a pregnancy perhaps due to age, premature menopause, ovarian disease or other conditions. Our Louisiana donor egg program meets these womens' needs by providing a variety of egg donors.

We offer surgical services for conditions such as endometriosis, uterine polyps and fibroids, and uterine anatomical abnormalities. Other surgical procedures offered include reversal of tubal sterilization. Whether or not cut tubes can be reconnected depends on many factors including how and where they were cut. In addition to our wide array of fertility services, we offer treatment for women suffering from menopausal symptoms.

Male infertility is very common being present in up to half of all infertile couples. Our Louisiana fertility clinic offers expert evaluation of semen and diagnosis of male infertility. We work in concert with several urologists to provide services for male infertility. Surgical options in the male include repair of varicoceles or possibly reversal of sterilization in some cases. ICSI is available for couples with moderate to severe male infertility and pregnancy can be achieved with as few as one sperm. When there is no sperm in the ejaculate, we work with the urologist to surgically remove sperm directly from the reproductive tract using a variety of techniques.

It is important to remember that most couples achieve pregnancy using "first line" treatments, such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), or medications, and treatments vary dependent upon each couple's diagnosis. In anovulatory women a "general treatment protocol" might include therapies like Clomid for three months, followed by IUI with injectable fertility drugs for three cycles, and IVF for three cycles. However, all treatments are individualized for each couple.

Studies have shown that the cost to attain pregnancy is less when diagnosis and therapy are managed by a reproductive endocrinologist, fertility specialist. Specialists are more likely to administer the appropriate treatment early in therapy.

In general, a fertility specialist should be consulted early in the evaluation, especially if the female is in her thirties. There is a direct correlation between increasing female age and reduced fertility and sometimes the decline can be rapid. Infertility causes and treatments are complex and fertility specialists undergo years of advanced training to best prepare them to effectively diagnose and treat couples. Our fertility specialists serve patients from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and the surrounding regions.

Also, it is clear that total fertility treatment cost is minimized when a fertility specialist is seen early in treatment. In most cases, IVF will not be required but when it is we offset IVF treatment cost by offering an IVF treatment refund.

Referral

Many patients are referred by an obstetrician gynecologist. We do, however, see self-referred patients and prefer to speak with them before they make an appointment in order to make absolutely certain that their problems lie within our areas of expertise.

The medical staff of the A Woman's Center For Reproductive Medicine does not perform obstetrics, meaning we do not follow early pregnancies beyond the first ten to twelve weeks of gestation. In general, the referring physician resumes care when the fertility problem for which we are seeing a couple is resolved, and will continue care and treatment for other unrelated problems.

Many of our patients "self refer" from Baton Rouge, New Orleans and the entire region. Our fertility clinic is approximately 80 mile for New Orleans yet many patients have heard of our reputation and choose to travel to Baton Rouge. Our fertility clinic is large enough to generate extensive IVF experience yet small enough to maintain a highly personal environment.
